Louisiana Community and Technical College System HEERF-II (CRRSAA-Student) eligibility guidelines
Fletcher Technical Community College communication to eligible students: March 4, 2021
May 1, 2020:
Dear Fletcher Student,
As a result of the Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic, the United States Congress approved the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (“CARES Act”). The CARES Act was signed into law by President Trump on March 27, 2020. In efforts to stimulate the economy and to assist college students during this time, emergency financial aid grants have been allocated for students who meet strict eligibility guidelines as established by the United States Department of Education (USDOE). At this time, Fletcher Technical Community College is working to identify students who meet the eligibility requirements for the grant.
We are working as quickly as possible to determine which students will receive funds based on the eligibility requirements as established by the USDOE. Currently, there is nothing for you to do. If you are eligible to receive funds, we will communicate directly with you through email. If you do not receive a follow-up email, it means you did not meet the USDOE’s eligibility requirements.
Please be sure to check your email daily for further communications regarding your eligibility for the CARES Act emergency financial aid grant.
Please stay safe, and we look forward to continuing to be your higher education institution of choice.
Sincerely,
Kristine Strickland, Ph.D.

Dear Fletcher Student:
This is a follow-up from the previous email about the CARES Act Student Emergency Grant that was sent to you. After a thorough review of the United States Department of Education’s (USDOE) eligibility criteria and your records at Fletcher Technical Community College, you are eligible to receive a CARES Act emergency grant. This grant does not have to be repaid.
All Fletcher students who are determined eligible will receive a one-time grant in the amount of $641.98. Based on several factors, grant amounts will vary by college, so family or friends that attend a different college may receive more or less than you.
These funds should be available to you by May 15, 2020.
If you have questions, please contact us at 985-448-7900.
Please stay safe, and we look forward to continuing to be your higher education institution of choice.
Sincerely,
Kristine Strickland, PhD

LA Dept of Health – COVID 19 Information
Following CDC guidance, the Louisiana Department of Health is no longer conducting case investigation and contact tracing of individual cases of COVID-19. LDH continues to investigate COVID-19 outbreaks and cases in high risk settings and the COVID-19 Support Hotline is available for Louisianans who have questions about COVID-19, need resources to help them isolate or quarantine safely, or want to schedule a COVID-19 vaccine.
CDC – Respiratory Virus Guidance
https://www.cdc.gov/respiratory-viruses/guidance/index.html
If you have COVID-19, you can spread the virus to others. There are precautions you can take to prevent spreading it to others: isolation, masking, and avoiding contact with people who are at high risk of getting very sick. Isolation is used to separate people with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 from those without COVID-19. These recommendations do not change based on COVID-19 Community Levels. If you have COVID-19, also see additional information on treatments that may be available to you.
