Medical Coding/Insurance Billing Specialist
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Care & Development of Young Children is designed to prepare students for the workforce in occupations related to the direct care, education, curriculum development, and/or administration of programs for young children. Graduates will be prepared and eligible to open their own licensed childcare centers, serve as childcare providers and directors of licensed centers, or work in quality childcare programs such as Head Start and Early Start. This program is viewed as a terminal, not a transfer, degree program; however, all requirements for credentials of instructors and quality of courses are maintained exactly as needed for AS and AA (transfer) degrees of the College. Specific courses may transfer to four-year universities if the candidate would like to pursue a Bachelor degree. Students are required to maintain a portfolio and other artifacts for this degree program. Students are required to work under supervision and mentorship at schools or child care centers outside of class. Completion of the Associates of Applied Science Degree provides eligibility of the Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate, as required by the State of Louisiana for early childhood teachers.
Graduates of the Care and Development of Young Children Program may be employed in:

The Accounting Technology program prepares students to provide technical support to professional accountants and other management personnel by recording, summarizing, and reporting financial information of an organization. Fletcher’s Accounting Technology Program provides a foundation in basic accounting and bookkeeping skills. It includes instruction in general accounting principles and practices, posting transactions to accounts, record keeping systems, and accounting software operation. CIP 520302

The Louisiana Transfer Associate Degree is designed to provide students with an opportunity to complete the first 60 hours of course work toward a baccalaureate degree at a 2-year or community college. LT graduates are eligible to enter a 4-year Louisiana public university as a junior, with all 60 (non-developmental) credits transferring to the receiving university

The program focuses on the interrelationship between crime, the criminal justice system, and society as a whole. Students will study the components and processes of the American Justice system including criminology and human behavior. The Customer Service Representative program prepares students to provide professional and effective customer service skills essential in making a positive impression on current and future customers. The Louisiana Transfer, Associate of Science or Arts Degree is designed specifically for students who want to complete their freshman and sophomore years at Fletcher before transferring to a four-year college or university to finish a bachelor’s degree. The program includes a core of general education courses that is required in all baccalaureate degree programs at Louisiana’s public colleges. Students in the program complete basic requirements in English, mathematics, natural sciences, art, humanities, and social science. CIP 240199
The degree includes 39 general education credits and 21 hours of courses that students choose based on the requirements of the baccalaureate programs into which they plan to transfer. All courses in the Louisiana Transfer Degree program must be completed with a grade of C or better in order to earn the degree and qualify for block transfer guarantees.
The Medical Coding/Insurance Billing program of study provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare them for diagnostic and procedural coding positions in hospitals, physicians’ offices and clinics, long-term care facilities, insurance companies, home care agencies, managed care organizations and outpatient surgical hospitals. The program will also prepare students for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Exam and at the national level through the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC).
The Office Systems Technology program prepares students for a career in a business office environment utilizing oral, written, and desktop communications skills.The program includes instruction in business communications, public relations, scheduling and travel management, conference and meeting recording, report preparation, office equipment and procedures, office supervisory skills, professional standards, and legal requirements.
