Fletcher Scholarships
General Scholarship Fund: Applicants selected for this scholarship can be pursuing any degree. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to two students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Parrish D’Vonne Johnfroe Memorial Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship can be pursuing any degree. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time or part-time student, US Citizen. Award information: one-time award of $500.
Rotary Club of Houma: Applicants selected for this scholarship can be pursuing any degree. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student, US Citizen, resident of Terrebonne Parish. Please include the types of community service you have provided in your application. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Allen & Jeanette Guillory Thomason Foundation Scholarship in Education: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in Care and Development of Young Children. Requirements: 3.0 GPA, full-time student, living in Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish, enrolled in CDYC for at least one semester before applying. Preference will be given to a current student who exhibits the following qualities: professionalism, diligence, and studiousness. Award information: full-paid scholarship for one student for the duration of the program, as long as criteria is maintained.
Fletcher Criminal Justice Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in Criminal Justice. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, either part-time or full-time student, resident of Louisiana. Award information: $250 awarded at the beginning of the semester for up to 2 consecutive semesters max, awarded to two students per semester. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #52 Scholarship: Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Criminal Justice, Political Science. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student, resident of Lafourche Parish. First priority to members and children of members of Fraternal Order of Police, second priority to students enrolled in Criminal Justice. Award information: $250 in the Fall and $250 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Gordon “Bubba” Dove Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Office Systems Technology, Accounting, Business, Drafting, Machine Tool, Marine Diesel, IPT, Welding, Line Worker. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full time student, resident of Lafourche, Terrebonne, or Assumption Parish. Please include any community service you have provided in your application. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to three students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Green Horizon Scholarship for Environmental Science Excellence: Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in Environmental Sciences. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student, resident of Louisiana. Please include any community service you have provided in your application. Award information: one-time award of $500.
Lavigne Endowed Scholarship – Craft Trades/Business: Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options for at least one semester before applying: Technical Programs, Welding, Electrician, Machine Tool, Marine Diesel, Drafting, Accounting; Requirements: 3.0 GPA, full-time student. Award information: $1,000 in the Fall and $1,000 in the Spring, awarded to two students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
NextGen Wellness Scholarship for General Studies and Care and Development of Young Children: This scholarship was established to aid students who are planning to pursue a career in mental, behavioral, or allied health to expand the pipeline for behavioral health professionals.
Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options for at least one semester before applying: General Studies (with plans to study psychology or pursue a career in the field of mental and behavioral health) or Care and Development of Young Children (CYDC); Requirements: 3.0 GPA, either part-time or full-time student. Applicant must submit a summary of his/her educational plans and goals and why he/she has chosen a career path in mental and behavioral health. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to two students in General Studies and one student in CDYC. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
South Louisiana Bank Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Accounting Technology, Office Systems Technology. Requirements: 3.0 GPA, full time student, resident of Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to two students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Allen & Jeanette Guillory Thomason Foundation Scholarship in Construction Crafts: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing one of the following degree options: Electrician, Machine Tool Technology, Residential Air Conditioning, Technical Studies, Welding. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student, living in Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish. Award information: full-paid scholarship for one student for the duration of the program, as long as criteria is maintained.
BP IPT Two Year Workforce Endowed Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree for at least one semester: IPT. Requirements: 3.0 GPA, full-time student. Award information: $1,000 in the Fall and $1,000 in the Spring, awarded to two students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Chancellor’s Breakfast – Danos: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in Technical Studies. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student. Award information: one-time award of $500.
Colbert Antoine Bouvier Endowed Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in Technical Studies. Requirements: 2.0 GPA, full-time or part-time student, US Citizen, resident of Lafourche Parish. First preference goes to South Lafourche High School (SLHS) graduates. If there are no eligible applicants from SLHS, second preference goes to Central Lafourche High School graduates. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
John Deere Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Agricultural Technology, Welding, Associate of Applied Science in Technical Studies with a concentration in Welding; Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Curt Eysink IPT Endowed Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree: IPT; Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student. Award information: $1,500 in the Fall and $1,500 in the Spring, awarded to three students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Derby Party – Force Power Systems Scholarship: Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Marine Diesel Engine Technician. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, part-time or full-time student, resident of Louisiana. Award information: $250 in the Fall and $250 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Derby Party – Gulf Island Scholarship: Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree option: Welding. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, part-time or full-time student. Derby Party – K&B Industries Scholarship: Applicants for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Commercial Vehicle Operations (CLD), Drafting and Design, Electrician, Welding. Requirements: part-time or full-time student. Award information: $250 in the Fall and $250 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Drafting and Design Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing a degree in Drafting and Design Technology. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time student. Award information: $500 in the Fall and $500 in the Spring, awarded to two students. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Drones Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be enrolled in the Drones program. Award information: one-time award of $200.
Entergy Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be enrolled in the Line Worker program. Award information: one-time award of $500.
Gordon “Bubba” Dove Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Office Systems Technology, Accounting, Business, Drafting, Machine Tool, Marine Diesel, IPT, Welding, Line Worker. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full time student, resident of Lafourche, Terrebonne, or Assumption Parish. Please include any community service you have provided in your application. The Broadway Elder Living and Rehabilitation Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Associate of Science in Nursing, Nurse Assistant, Practical Nursing; Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time or part-time student, resident of Lafourche or Terrebonne Parish. Preference given to applicants interested in the care of the elderly. Applicant must submit a summary of his/her educational plans and goals and why he/she has chosen a career path in healthcare. Award information: $250 in the Fall and $250 in the Spring, awarded to one student. Note: All requirements must be maintained to earn the Spring award.
Claude P. Daspit LPN Scholarship Fund: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursing the following degree options: Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN). Requirements: 2.5 GPA, full-time or part-time student, resident of Louisiana. Please include a 350-word essay explaining why you chose your program of study, include any community service you have provided in your essay. Applicants must submit a copy of their acceptance letter into the LPN program and a letter of recommendation (from a teacher, guidance counselor, current employer, health care professional, etc. - cannot be a family member). Award information: one-time award of $1,072, awarded in the Fall.

Derby Party – Terrebonne General Health System Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be pursing the following degree options: Associate of Science in Nursing, Cardiopulmonary Care Science, Electrocardiograph Technician, Medical Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technician, Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomy, Practical Nursing, Sterile Processing, Surgical Technology. Requirements: 3.0 GPA, full-time or part-time student, resident of Louisiana. Award information: one-time award of $500.
LA Charities Trust Scholarship: Applicants selected for this scholarship must be unconditionally accepted into the clinical portion of the Practical Nursing program or the LPN to ASN program, maintain a 2.5 GPA, and be considered a full-time student. First preference will be given to employees of Heritage Manor of Houma, The Oaks of Houma, and Audubon Guest House. Please include a 350-word essay explaining why you chose your program of study; include any community service you have provided in your essay. Applicants must submit a copy of their acceptance letter into their program of study and a letter of recommendation (from a teacher, guidance counselor, current employer, health care professional, etc. - cannot be a family member). External Scholarships
The University of the Aftermarket Foundation operates the Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships Central website and, along with more than 40 other automotive organizations, awards scholarships to students who apply online. Apply for Automotive Scholarships by the March 31, 2024 deadline at www.automotivescholarships.com. Available scholarships range from $1,000-$10,000 and will be awarded to students attending colleges and ASE/NATEF certified post-secondary Automotive, Collision, HD, or Alternate Fuel programs. The scholarships are open to full time post-secondary students. Graduating high school seniors and former recipients are welcome to apply. Each completed scholarship application is reviewed by the organizations where the student meets the qualifications. Last year, more than 50 students received multiple awards from one application.
Bayou Industrial Group, a non-profit, non-partisan organization committed to the growth and sustainability of business and industry in the Bayou Region of southeast Louisiana, is excited to invite graduating high school seniors to apply for our scholarship program. Membership in B.I.G. is not required to apply.

Scholarship amounts for these programs will depend on program costs and other factors. We recognize the importance of these certifications to the employers in our region, and we proudly support students’ efforts in attaining them since it improves our local workforce.

Thibodaux City Marshal, Calvin Cooks, Sr., has announced applications are now being accepted for the Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program. All eligible students in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area are encouraged to apply.
Two (2) $500 scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school students who are planning to attend Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College. Applicants must be a permanent resident of the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area and must be eligible for admission to the school indicated on the application. The award will only be paid for attendance at one of the aforementioned qualifying institutions as a full-time, undergraduate student. The scholarship is a gift, not a loan, and is awarded to defray the rising costs of tuition and related expenses in higher education. There are no restrictions on the purposes for which the scholarship is spent. The Thibodaux City Marshal Calvin Cooks, Sr. Scholarship Program awards scholarships to provide assistance to worthy students living in the City of Thibodaux/Ward 2 area in furthering their education and training with resources made available from personal funds of Calvin Cooks, Sr.
The Camille Alyse Begnaud Military Scholarship for Educational Advancement - Big Dipper is awarded annually to retired, honorably discharged, active duty, or a member of the National Guard or Reserve. The scholarship is to provide financial assistance for service members, or veterans to aide in completing their educational goals without incurring excessive student loan debt. It’s just another way to say “thank you” to those who deserve it the most. Please email bsmscholarship@bluestarmoms.net to obtain an application. All applications must be post marked by March 31st. The Scholarship Committee recommends that applications be sent via registered certified mail or email. The Scholarship Committee is not responsible for non-performance on the part of the mail. No faxed copies will be accepted.
CFF is proud to offer quarterly awards to university and college students! This scholarship will be awarded to a citizen or a Permanent Resident of the United States who is enrolled and taking classes at an accredited college or university in the United States. CFF will grant selected applicants a $1,500 financial award for their compelling essays on fishing, outdoors, and adventure activities. Each quarter, 1 student will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship. The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr. Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. The Lafourche Chamber Foundation awards scholarships to eligible high school seniors graduating from either South Lafourche High School, Central Lafourche High School, Thibodaux High School, E.D. White Catholic High School, Virtual Academy of Lafourche or Grand Isle High School. The scholarships may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Nicholls State University Award – $4,000 scholarship distributed at $500 per semester for those who remain qualified, to be paid directly to Nicholls State University in the award recipient’s name at the start of each semester, beginning the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. To receive subsequent distributions in a timely manner, the award recipient must submit their last semester’s grades and their next semester’s class schedule to the Lafourche Chamber Foundation prior to the next semester’s start date in order to determine eligibility.
- Fletcher Technical Community College Award – $2,000 scholarship distributed at $500 per semester for those who remain qualified, to be paid directly to Fletcher Technical Community College in the award recipient’s name at the start of each semester, beginning the fall semester immediately following high school graduation. All eligible students in Lafourche Parish are encouraged to apply. The $500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating high school student who attends Nicholls State University or Fletcher Technical Community College. All applications must be received by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office no later than Thursday, April 1. An independent selection committee will review the applications and select a winner to be announced in May. There are no restrictions on applicants by reason of race, creed, color, age or national origin. The Louisiana Sheriffs’ Scholarship Program awards scholarships in all 64 parishes, providing assistance to worthy Louisiana students in furthering their education and training with resources made available through the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program.
Louisiana One Call is in their inaugural year of offering scholarships to students. The organization intends to award two academic awards and two technical scholarships in the amount of $811 each. The link is below:

The Mariposa Foundation was established to provide an Academic Scholarship to those women who have found themselves steering toward education after a significant event. The mission of the Mariposa Foundation is not only to provide an educational scholarship to assist with the cost of tuition but also to establish a source of education in a variety of fundamental ways, which could include personal development, life coach transformations, wellness coaching, financial and spiritual guidance along the way.
Award Amount: $500 towards tuition for the Fall and Spring semesters, as long as criteria is met
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicant must be a female.
- Applicant must be divorced, widowed, or have had another life-altering event.
- Must reside within Lafourche, St. Mary, or Terrebonne Parish.
- Applicant must stay enrolled in the selected eligibility program.
- Must be willing to have bi-monthly coaching or mentoring calls or meetings. This portion is required for accountability purposes.

- A personal statement (think of it as a journal entry) of no less than 500 or more words explaining why you, the Applicant, should receive the scholarship.

Many private companies and veteran service organizations award scholarships annually that help veterans go back to school. One such scholarship is the AMVET Scholarship Program. SCIA Scholarships:
The South Central Industrial Association offers five merit-based scholarships annually: The Otis T. Logue Scholarship, and four additional SCIA scholarships dedicated to improving the opportunity for higher education for our youth by providing financial assistance to qualified candidates.
SCIA is also the facilitator of three Gordon “Bubba” Dove Foundation scholarships. The same application and process applies for these scholarships.

Applicants selected for a Shell scholarship must be pursuing the following degree options: Machine Tool, Electrical, IPT, and Welding. Requirements: 2.5 GPA, Full time or part time student. Visit Shell's website for more information.
The Thibodaux Service League will award a scholarship to a graduate of E.D. White Catholic High School or a graduate of Thibodaux High School. Recipient must be a first-time freshman at Fletcher Technical Community College and must have maintained a 3.00 GPA in high school. The scholarship of $1,000 ($500 per semester) will be awarded for two consecutive semesters to a student who demonstrates financial need. To maintain the scholarship for the second semester, the student must be considered full-time and must maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA. Preference will be given to students who have participated in community service activities, whether through service organizations in high school or on their own initiative. The applicant must supply a resume or letter explaining their service.
The TransCanada Community Scholarships program aims to develop the local workforce and foster positive relationships where we live, work and operate. As a signature program of our Education & Training community investment focus area, TransCanada Community will be awarding more than $2,000,000 in scholarships to students across North America in 2020.

- TransCanada Trades Scholarship – 56 scholarships X $2,500 and 1 scholarship X $10,000 - Offered to students who are entering or enrolled in a qualifying trades program at a registered education institute. This includes, but is not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, welding, pipe fitting, and related positions etc.

Walter Morales is an entrepreneur, educator, and charter school founder based in Baton Rouge, LA who is active in improving the urban education system. After the success of his recent scholarship fund, Walter wants to help the next generation of educators in the United States and would like to give back through the “Walter Morales Grant for Future Educators”. This grant is available for students in the United States who are currently enrolled in a university, and high school students who have plans to attend a university. The scholarship is meant to help a deserving student with scholarship funding who wishes to become an educator and has a passion for urban education.

The Women’s Business Alliance is now accepting applications for its Academic Scholarship Program.
The program, which will award two $1,000 scholarships, is available to two types of female students pursuing higher education: the graduating high-school senior and the non-traditional student.
- The nontraditional student is one age 25 or older who has returned to a Louisiana college to pursue a degree. Nontraditional applicants must be residents of Terrebonne and/or Lafourche Parishes. Nontraditional applicants must be undergraduate students who have completed one semester of college and have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Graduating seniors must be residents of Terrebonne and/or Lafourche Parishes and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least a 3.0 and be entering a Louisiana college..

The Molly C. and Larene B. Woodard Nursing Scholarships for undergraduate Louisiana nursing students have been offered since 2009 and are administered by the Louisiana Nurses Foundation (LNF). We are indebted to the legacy and estate of Mr. E. Scott Woodard for providing almost 90 nursing scholarships to date. These scholarship awards are based on eligibility and financial need. Students must be attending a state-approved school of nursing of their choice that prepares students for initial licensure as Registered Nurses.
