CONOCOPHILLIPS DONATES $4,000 TO
FLETCHER TECHNICAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE’S
INTEGRATED PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES PROGRAM
HOUMA, LA – ConocoPhillips presented a check to Fletcher Technical Community College (Fletcher) for $4,000 Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at their Houma Office on Bayou Black Drive. This investment will be allocated towards IPT BOOST program for students enrolled in Fletcher’s Integrated Production Technologies (IPT) program. For three years, ConocoPhillips has donated to the Integrated Production Technologies program totaling $14,000. Their contribution to IPT program has help many students with scholarships and realistic workforce experience through BOOST. Since 2013, ConocoPhillips has made contributions totaling $35,000 to the College. Fletcher truly value its partnership with ConocoPhillips.
Fletcher’s Chancellor, Dr. Kristine Strickland, said “Fletcher Technical Community College is grateful to ConocoPhillips for their generous gift. Business and industry’s continued commitment to educating and training the future workforce of Louisiana is vital to our future. We look forward to our continued partnership in helping our students achieve their goals.”
About the IPT Program- BOOST (Basic Offshore Operations Skills Training) program. This unique, hands-on learning opportunity was customized for Fletcher students to deepen their understanding of deepwater principles and expose them to industry culture during simulated “real-world” platform shifts. Fletcher IPT instructors collaborated with Shell trainers to create a curriculum that built upon the theories taught in the IPT program and blended technical classroom instruction with practical hands on experience. The students’ final grade is based on a project created by Shell and Fletcher IPT instructors.
