Fletcher Technical Community College Selected for FAA Training Program

Schriever, Louisiana –Fletcher Technical Community College announces the Federal Aviation
Administration (FAA) has selected its Drones program for the Unmanned Aircraft Systems-Collegiate
Training Initiative program or the UAS-CTI.

"We are thrilled to be recognized by the FAA through the UAS-CTI program," said Nancy Clement, Dean
of Energy & Advanced Technologies at Fletcher. "This designation is a testament to the quality of our
UAS program and the hard work of our faculty and students. It will open new doors for our students,
providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the growing field of unmanned aircraft
systems."

The FAA’s UAS-CTI program recognizes institutions that prepare students for careers in unmanned
aircraft systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones. To qualify for the initiative, schools must offer a
bachelor’s or associate’s degree in UAS or a degree with a minor, concentration, or certificate in UAS. Schools must provide curriculum covering various aspects of UAS training, including hands-on flight
practice, maintenance, uses, applications, privacy concerns, safety, and federal policies concerning UAS.

Fletcher’s Drones program offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes online lessons with optional
in-person flight days. The program emphasizes the importance of understanding federal regulations and
policies related to UAS operations. Fletcher has a strong track record of producing skilled graduates who
are well-prepared for the demands of the workforce.
