Thank you for your interest in Business Administration. This program is offered 100% online with some courses offered in the hybrid and in-person modalities. If attending full-time, you can complete your Associate of Applied Science Degree in two years with several industry-based certifications available along your educational journey. The Business Administration program has three possible concentration areas: General Business, Entrepreneurship, and Paralegal.

Program Overview

The Business Administration Program with a concentration in General Business is designed to provide a selection of courses for orientation to business and industry. The student will obtain the basic skills necessary for entry-level positions in the management, marketing, or accounting fields. CIP 520101

Business Administration - General Business Concentration DEGREE PROGRAM OPTIONS

Students who successfully complete the Business Administration - General Business Concentration will be able to:

  1. Comprehend terms and arithmetic/problem solving skills in personal, financial, and managerial accounting.
  2. Apply economic theories to real world and hypothetical situations.
  3. Communicate effectively using oral and written communication within the business environment using technology.
  4. Comprehend business management, marketing, and legal principles.

Business Administration - entrpreneurship Concentration DEGREE PROGRAM OPTIONS

Students who successfully complete the Business Administration program with an Entrepreneurship Concentration will be able to:

  1. Comprehend terms and arithmetic/problem solving skills in personal and entrepreneurial finance, and financial accounting.
  2. Apply economic theories to real world and hypothetical situations.
  3. Communicate effectively using oral and written communication within the business environment using technology.
  4. Comprehend business management, marketing, and legal principles.
  5. Understand and apply the basic concepts of entrepreneurship.

Business Administration - Paralegal Studies Concentration DEGREE PROGRAM OPTIONS

Students who successfully complete the Business Administration program with a Paralegal Studies Concentration will be able to:

  1. Comprehend terms and arithmetic/problem solving skills in personal finance and financial accounting.
  2. Apply economic theories to real world and hypothetical situations.
  3. Communicate effectively using oral and written communication within the business environment using technology.
  4. Comprehend business management and legal principles.
  5. Demonstrate basic knowledge needed to provide paralegal services.

INDUSTRY-BASED CERTIFICATIONS AVAILABLE

  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in Word and PowerPoint - available in Introduction to Computer Applications (CPTR 1100).
  • Communication Skills for Business - available in Business Communication (BUSN 1050).
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) in Excel - available in Spreadsheets (CINS 1350) which can be taken as a business elective course.
  • Customer Service & Sales Certification - available in Service Communications (BUSN 1010) which can be taken as a business elective course.
  • QuickBooks Certified User - available in Computerized Accounting (ACCT 2500) which can be taken as a business elective course.
