Heavy Equipment Operations

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Heavy Equipment Operations course is an entry-level program that provides individuals with the technical knowledge and skills to operate and maintain a variety of heavy equipment including utility tractors, earth-moving equipment, and graders.  Standardized curriculum and assessments developed by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) are used for instruction.  This introductory course includes equipment safety; identification of equipment needed for the job; basic maintenance and operational skills; and an introduction in ditch digging, sloping, stripping, grading, backfilling, clearing, and excavating. This course includes hands-on training and NCCER Core and Heavy Equipment Level 1 credentials are earned upon successful completion. The cost of this course is $2,500.

*All noncredit course tuition and fees are assessed by each class. Tuition, fees, and other charges relating to noncredit classes are not refundable unless the training course is canceled by the College. If the College cancels a class, then 100% of all College-assessed tuition and fees paid will be refunded for the canceled class.
