The resources below will be essential tools in your journey towards your dream job. Resume Templates: Students can find free resume templates online at the following sites.
- Canva - Canva provides a wide range of resume templates that you can customize to suit your needs. It offers both modern and traditional designs.
- Microsoft Office Templates - Microsoft Office provides a collection of resume templates that you can download and edit using Microsoft Word. They offer a variety of styles and formats.
- Google Docs Templates - Google Docs offers a selection of resume templates that you can access directly from your Google account. These templates area easy to use and can be customized to fit your preferences.
- Resume.com - Resume.com provides a user-friendly interface for creating and downloading resumes. It offers a range of templates for different industries and career levels.

It's an opportunity for both the interviewer and the candidate to ask questions, exchange information, and determine if there's a good fit between the applicant and the job role. This process can vary in format, including one-on-one, panel, or group interviews, and can be conducted in-person, over the phone, or through video conferencing.

We know that all students that enter Fletcher may not know exactly what Career or job would be the best fit for them, so Career Services is here to help with tools and resources to help you explore career options!
The Career Waves 3 platform was developed for our Fletcher students and is your best resource for online career exploration. This content management site includes everything a student needs from the start of their studies at Fletcher to the end when they’re about to enter the workforce or transfer out for higher studies.
Once you enter Career Waves at https://www.careerwaves3portal.com, get started by following the steps below:
- Sign up in the top right-hand corner of the page
- Once your profile is created, set your preferences and sign up to get daily, weekly or monthly news and information straight to your email.
- Take the career assessment detailed quiz by going to the Career Exploration tab found on the middle of the page, click on Career Coach Assessment link, and take the 60-question detailed quiz to determine what careers may be a good fit for you as a place to start. - Explore Career Clusters main drop down at the top of the page and search jobs that may interest you for detailed tasks and skills required for a particular job, education needed, wage information, and much more for any occupation.
If you’d rather speak to someone in person, we have you covered! The following staff members at Fletcher are here to assist you with your career questions.
- Our Enrollment Advisors are skilled and knowledgeable in each of the areas they oversee. Each Advisor oversees a particular program area at Fletcher. To make an appointment or find out which Advisor to meet with, go to the Advising tab on Fletcher’s website at Advising | Student and Academic Support Services (fletcher.edu). At the bottom, you’ll see each Advisor and what their specialty is, and you can schedule an appointment straight from each contact box.
- Our Director of Job Placement is also available to meet with students to discuss career options. Contact information can be found at the top of this page on the Contact tab.
The Director of Job Placement is here to connect job opportunities to students in their field of study through the following ways.
- Connect students with employers through Career Fairs held each semester
- Connect students with employers through classroom site-visits
- Electronic job posting platform- Handshake
- Job Boards are located at the Schriever and Thibodaux campus with current job postings and Job Fairs in the local area
- One-on-one placement assistance

Fletcher is proud to be a Handshake school! Handshake is the #1 way college students get hired in America. Students are strongly encouraged to create an account and get started exploring job opportunities in the location and field of their interest. To get started, students can activate their accounts at https://fletcher.joinhandshake.com and by following the steps below:
- Activation an account on Handshake through your Lola sign-on
- Update your profile with as much information as you can
- Add a personal email address so you can access Handshake even after graduation
- Upload your resume if you have once finalized. (If not, see the resume-building tab at the top of this page)
- Set your notification and privacy preferences
- Download the Handshake app to have job opportunities at your fingertips

- Activate a business profile on Handshake. Handshake is our electronic job posting platform and is also the #1 way college students get hired in America. To get started, click the link https://joinhandshake.com and complete the following steps:
Official Business Partners
In order for a business, industry or individual partner to be eligible for recognition, the partner must participate in three (3) of the six (6) categories within an academic year (July 1st through June 30th). A seventh category, “Other” is still an option for consideration of inclusion for the recognition process.
